Jade Hoornaert

one of the project staff members of FMDO

Jade Hoornaert (26) is one of the project staff members of FMDO. She studied International Politics at Ghent University (Belgium) and the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and currently lives in Brussels. She is active in FMDO on different locations for three years now and has coordinated several projects so far:

8400 Talents: newcomers are matched to volunteer work based on their interests and talents to practice the language, meet new people and build up working experience.

Educational Ambassadors : people with migration background follow a course about the educational system in Flanders. The graduated ‘educational ambassadors’ are active in schools as intermediaries to inform newcomers about the schooling system in their mother tongue in order to make the newcomers able to make the right study choices for their kids.

Connect Brussels: a project that matches newcomers to a ‘buddy’ based on their personality and interests.
