Project Description

Europe at School Network

The Europe at School Network supports teachers in implementing European citizenship education at school. The program consists of several pillars: a newsletter informs about new developments (events, materials, initiatives, etc.); the annual full-day conference offers renowned speakers, workshops and networking opportunities; an annual study visit to Brussels provides insights into the European institutions, contacts with MEPs, visits to museums and lectures by high level experts.

The network is an initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, the Representation of the European Commission and the Information Office of the European Parliament in Austria. It is operated by Zentrum polis – the Austrian Centre for Citizenship Education in Schools.

Interest in the network is growing because the events tackle controversial issues and allow for discussion and debate, the study trips are a very motivating element.
