Federal Agency for Civic Education/bpb and Franco-German Youth Office agree on cross-border funding program to strengthen democracy and support European civic education projects for young people with up to 20,000 euros.
Within the framework of three-year cooperation with the Franco-German Youth Office, funding programs up to 20,000 € will be awarded to cross-border civic education projects. Associations, organizations, educational institutions and schools can apply to implement Franco-German and trilateral projects for young people between the ages of 14 and 30. The possible project formats range from youth exchanges, seminars and youth parliaments to concerts, sports projects and art actions. Topics for projects are the following:
- Every vote counts! Projects and meetings on the themes of democracy, human rights and elections
- Speak up! Projects and meetings to promote youth commitment and involvement in a context marked by climate warming, sustainable development and inequalities
- Digital democracy! Projects and meetings on the themes of freedom of expression and conspiracy theories, in a digital environment
Against the backdrop of the upcoming elections, the bpb and the DFJW have agreed on a Franco-German funding program to promote European projects in political education work to strengthen democracy, participation and engagement by and for young people.
