The focus groups are temporary working groups initiated by NECE Partners or Advisory Board members. They focus on specific transnational topics related to the profession of citizenship education. Currently, two focus groups are under construction:

Parliaments and Citizenship Education

In this focus group, initiated by NECE partner ProDemos experts and practitioners of citizenship education directly related to the parliamentary process are exchanging methods and experiences.

Competencies for Democratic Culture (RFCDC)

In February 2019, the NECE focus group on the Council of Europe’s Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) started its work. The group is led by polis – The Austrian Centre for Citizenship Education in Schools in cooperation with the DARE Network.

The focus group brings together educators and multipliers from diverse educational contexts who explore the implementation of the RFCDC in their specific institutional, local or national contexts.
